Great Masters of Mexican Clay Art

May 5 - 31, 2010

Opening: May 7, 5 - 8 PM, public invited

The Clay Arts Museum and Educational Organization has partnered with LADAP, Los Amigos de Arte Popular, to bring together from the private collections of Houston area residents, an exhibit of exquisite clay creations from Mexico's master artisans.

Ongoing Exhibits

Photographs by Dot Wong and Gerri Gill celebrating America, its beauty, people and diverse culture. The exhibit continues along with the addition of new images from recent travels.

Gallery Artists Show, "More Than Pots", through the end of April but you can see their work throughout the year at the shop. Come see the beautiful weavings, jewelry, wood-turned vessels, stained glass, and more pottery by our gallery artists.

JULY 1 - 31 - new work by Janis A. Ross, founding member of the Houston Potters Guild Shop. Artist's Opening Reception, Saturday, July 10, 6-8 pm. Public is invited. Please come by, meet the artist and view the many beautiful sculpted pots to come from her hand.

AUGUST 1 - 31 - Fifth Annual Emerging Artists Show sponsored by CAMEO. This exhibit offers college and university art students to show their work to the public in a gallery setting. Students are invited to enter two pieces they have completed during their studies.

SEPTEMBER 1 - 30 - New Work by Dorothy Broaddus, potter.

SEPTEMBER 8 AND 22 - Clay Cross Workshop conducted by Marsha L. Landers. 9-11 am. Consult the Workshop section of this website for additional information.

OCTOBER 1 - 31 - "Cryslals and Crackle" A collection of new work by Marsha L. Landers in crystalline glazes and the Raku crackle glaze.

NOVEMBER - DECEMBER - "HOLIDAY HARVEST - ENCORE" - The Houston Potters Guild Shop will again offer a variety of fine art and craft the first weekend in November starting off the 2010 holiday season.

JANUARY 2011 - The fifth annual Texas Teapot Tournament, an international teapot competition.

SPRING 2011 - "Imagine Mud" An exhibit of clay art by CAMEO member/mudders. We hope that other galleries will join us to host their own exhibits of the artists whose clayart they represent. Let's make this a party "for all to know the joy of clay".
